The CBP was given to several newly registered beneficiary families that had earlier not received the aid.
The head of state remarked that similar assistance would continue to be distributed by the government until March 2024 in the form of 10 kilograms of rice per month.
"Ladies and gentlemen, those who come here are additional beneficiaries. Not the regular. In next year, you will receive it (the assistance) again until March," he remarked.
On the occasion, the president also noted that the government would immediately distribute El Nino assistance worth Rp400 thousand to those impacted in December 2023.
"Has anyone here received the El Nino assistance of Rp400 thousand? If not, you will receive it this month," he stated.
However, Jokowi reminded that beneficiaries should open a bank account and register it with matching data. Hence, he urged the Nagekeo district head to immediately resolve this problem.
"The district head will handle this matter. Most importantly, you have received the rice assistance. It will be disbursed again next year until March," he remarked.
Before distributing the rice aid, the president reviewed the construction of Mbay Dam in Nagekeo District that is targeted for completion in 2024. The dam is expected to encourage rice production in the region.
After distributing rice aid, President Jokowi headed to the rice warehouse to review the rice stock at Nagekeo District.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi, Acting NTT Governor Ayodhia Kalake, and Nagekeo District Head Johanes Don Bosco Do also accompanied the president in his working visit.
