The 2024 budget for the program has been prepared. We can see the progress of this program next year.
Solo, Central Java (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, on Tuesday confirmed that the pre-employment card program will continue to run in 2024 considering its significant benefits for society.

"The 2024 budget for the program has been prepared. We can see the progress of this program next year. It is funded by the government and included in one of the government's agendas," he informed during a talk show in Solo.

The minister said that the budget allocation will depend on a government discussion, adding that millions of people have benefited from the program.

"More than 17 million people have gained benefits from the program. We have also started an offline class for more than one million people. This program is needed to balance our education and employment sectors," Hartarto added.

He then said that the program was initiated by President Joko Widodo in 2019.

"Besides the pre-employment cards, there are also a basic food card, a smart Indonesian card (KIP) for college, and the job creation law. This is related to structural reform, (a task) which was assigned to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs," he added.

Hartarto explained that the idea to launch the pre-employment card was based on the President's desire to support the demographic bonus in the future.

The minister also talked with a number of program beneficiaries and owners of training institutions.

A participant from batch number 54 of the pre-employment card program, Rofi, said that since joining the program, his laptop servicing business has shown improvement.

"My business is already known in Solo, if you search on the internet for Solo laptop service, it appears on the first page," he informed.

He said that since attending the training he has been utilizing social media to promote his business.

"Thank God, my business has grown because of the social media lesson taught at the program, too," he added.
