"These achievements should encourage us to continue to improve," he remarked at the Appreciation and Submission of the Results of the 2023 Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP), Bureaucratic Reform (RB), and Integrity Zone (ZI) Evaluation here on Wednesday.
The vice president noted that Indonesia ranked 73rd out of 214 countries in the Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) by the World Bank.
Amin highlighted that the Indonesian Government Effectiveness Index, which was 64.76 in 2022, increased to 66.04 in 2023.
The vice president emphasized that strategic policies for bureaucratic reform and management of the state apparatus must be carried out on a massive scale and simultaneously, and not only at the central government level but also in the regions.
He pressed for the need to continue to expedite bureaucratic reforms at the district and city government levels.

The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform reported that only 32 percent, or 166 out of 508 district and city governments, are categorized as "Good" in the RB index.
This figure is the lowest as compared to the achievements of ministries and agencies at the central government, which reaches around 92 percent, while 88 percent of provincial governments are in the Good category.
VP Amin explained that despite a year-to-year improvement in the RB Index, its impact on supporting national development targets, such as poverty reduction and increased investment, has not been significant.
"We still found acts of corruption, which were even carried out by several law enforcement officials and staff at the state financial audit agency. These real challenges must be addressed immediately, especially in the context of implementing bureaucratic reform in the future," he remarked.
