Create various innovations while maintaining the spirit to contribute to developing the country
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin called on members of the younger generation to explore their potential and increase their competence to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045.

"I ask the next generation of Indonesia to continue to explore their potential and improve competence," he remarked while giving virtual remarks at the ASEAN Golden Generation Conference: Synergy for the World held in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday.

In a press release received in Jakarta, Amin encouraged the younger generation to actively create new breakthroughs and participate in advancing the country.

"Create various innovations while maintaining the spirit to contribute to developing the country," he appealed.

Amin also underscored the need to use local wisdom as social capital to bolster synergy and collaboration with the international community, including within ASEAN.

He expressed hope that the conference would produce the best youth leadership ideas to play a strategic role in the world.

The ASEAN Golden Generation Conference: Synergy for the World is held for three days, on December 8-10, 2023.

The conference raises the theme of "The Role of the Younger Generation as an Important Pillar in Strengthening the Spirit of Local Wisdom and Synergy of Future ASEAN Cooperation to Welcome Golden Indonesia 2045."

The event is organized by Kappija21, an organization of alumni of the Japan-ASEAN Youth Friendship Program for the 21st Century and the Training Program For Young Leaders.

The conference serves as a forum for improving literacy of the younger generation, opening intellectual forums for young people, creating volunteers, and rousing the creativity of the youth.

The ultimate goal of the conference is to utilize the potential demographic dividend by increasing the capacity, capability, and competence of future leaders.
