This commitment marks action and collaboration between ministries and financial authorities to ensure women's financial inclusion as a catalyst for economic empowerment and gender equality.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) and several other ministries and government institutions have made a joint commitment to realize women's digital financial inclusion.
The PPPA Ministry, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the National Development Planning Ministry, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Indonesia signed a joint commitment document to this effect in Jakarta on Thursday.
"This commitment marks action and collaboration between ministries and financial authorities to ensure women's financial inclusion as a catalyst for economic empowerment and gender equality," deputy for gender equality at the PPPA Ministry, Lenny N. Rosalin, said at the signing event.
According to Rosalin, women's digital financial inclusion is essential to tackle gender inequality.
"Women's access to digital financial services contributes to Indonesia's digital transformation efforts, one of which is in the economic and financial sectors," she said.

She further said that women who are skilled in using digital technology and digital financial services have the opportunity to improve the quality of their lives, their families' lives, and society.
She noted that gender equality is part of Indonesia's development agendas, which include the commitment to achieve the sustainable development goals.
The role of gender equality in digital transformation is increasingly being considered important amid the government's efforts to script a digital transformation.
To tackle gender inequality, the PPPA Ministry has issued digital transformation guidelines that provide a gender mainstreaming perspective so that stakeholders can design digital policies and programs that are inclusive and gender-responsive.
One of the issues highlighted in the guidelines is gender inequality in digital access and adoption.
