Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will visit three ASEAN countries, namely Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam, on January 9-14, 2024, according to coordinator of the Presidential Special Staff, Ari Dwipayana.

"From January 9 to 14, 2024, the president is scheduled to visit three countries, namely Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brunei," he noted in a text message here on Monday.

Dwipayana stated that the visit is intended to bolster relations and cooperation between Indonesia and the three ASEAN countries.

"The strategic meaning behind the visit to the three countries will be explained by the president before his departure. The details of the visit to the three countries will be updated by Foreign Affairs Minister (Retno Marsudi)," he remarked.

He also noted that President Jokowi would depart in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 9, and in the morning, the president would chair a plenary cabinet meeting.
