Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's diplomacy continues to increase its contribution to regional peace and stability, including by maintaining the relevance and centrality of ASEAN during the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

According to Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, the contribution and influence of Indonesian diplomacy is increasingly recognized by the world, especially with the success of Indonesia's leadership in navigating the ASEAN amid geopolitical rivalry in the region last year.

"In the last 10 years, Indonesia's diplomatic track record has been felt in the region and the world. Indonesian leadership is also recognized by the world, including in navigating ASEAN as long as it is chaired by Indonesia," Marsudi stated at Gedung Merdeka, Bandung, on Monday (Jan 8).

During its ASEAN chairmanship, Indonesia has sought to construct an inclusive Indo-Pacific architecture and has advanced the paradigm of collaboration and international law.

Indonesia has also initiated the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) concept in 2019.

"ASEAN partner countries support the outlook and are even ready to support concrete cooperation in the implementation of AOIP," she affirmed.

Indonesia's chairmanship in the ASEAN also succeeded in building the long-term vision of ASEAN 2045 through the establishment of the ASEAN Concord IV.

In addition, Indonesia's leadership seeks to strengthen the resilience of the region to make the Indo-Pacific a center of economic growth or epicenter of growth.
