The event is scheduled to take place on January 17, 2024.
"Right, each pair will be given the chance to present (their anti-corruption ideas)," KPK spokesperson Ipi Maryati confirmed here on Wednesday.
According to her, PAKU Integritas aims to encourage candidates to set an example while discharging their roles and duties in the future. It also seeks to strengthen the anti-corruption commitment of the presidential and vice presidential candidates.
That way, in the future, the candidates are expected to encourage policies that support corruption eradication in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the Jakarta Statement on Principles for Anti-Corruption Agencies.
On Wednesday, the KPK held a technical coordination meeting to prepare for PAKU Integritas, which was attended by representatives from the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs' teams.
During the meeting, the concept and technical aspects of the event were explained. There was also a discussion on several points that are expected to be elaborated later by each pair as a form of their commitment to efforts to eradicate corruption.
Earlier, the head of news at KPK, Ali Fikri, stated here on Tuesday (January 9, 2024) that the three pairs have confirmed that they will attend the PAKU Integritas event.
He underlined that the event is not meant to be a platform for advancing competing ideas on corruption eradication, but rather an anti-corruption briefing and a chance to convey commitments related to corruption eradication.
The PAKU Integritas event will include the signing of an integrity pact on corruption eradication. The event will also be attended by officials from the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).
Indonesia will hold the general elections on February 14, 2024, in which around 204.8 million voters are expected to participate.
