By making the most of digital technology, we will be able to bolster the quality and swiftness of public services offeredJakarta (ANTARA) - The government is currently developing a platform for an electronic-based Government system with the aim of making the most of digital technology to transform all public services, Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi stated.
He noted that President Joko Widodo had decided to call the e-government platform "INA Digital," adding that the platform's development phase has been underway.
"We are aiming to digitize various aspects, including public services. By making the most of digital technology, we will be able to bolster the quality and swiftness of public services offered," he remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Setiadi, the INA Digital platform will integrate digital systems run by all ministries, establishing a single national portal.
"The platform will help people access health, educational, and social services more easily via smartphones," he pointed out while ensuring that the platform will start operating this year.

Setiadi spoke of President Widodo having pushed for the availability of the platform by July to support the government's efforts to actualize its digital ID plan.
"Mr President has demanded that the platform be operable by July, especially in relation to digital ID," he stated.
Based on a report from Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, he stated that the government had successfully digitized a total of 10 million identity cards.
He then expressed hope that the ID digitization process would conclude as soon as possible.
"Just wait. The president has set a target. Most importantly, we have been making tremendous efforts in this digitization process. It should be noted that digital transformation is inevitable and is required to further augment the government's public services," Setiadi concluded.
