Collaboration and comprehensive support from all parties are of the essence to create an innovation-oriented inclusive digital ecosystem that will pave the way for a better Indonesia, Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi stated.
"It (inclusive digital ecosystem) requires a common understanding as well as measurable and cohesive steps among governmental institutions, the private sector, and the public," he noted in a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday.
The minister made the statement during a meeting with Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas in the latter's office on Wednesday (January 3).
Setiadi highlighted that his side had released the Digital Indonesia 2045 Vision as a concept, vision, and direction of the country's relevant national strategies.
To achieve the vision, he said, the ministry seeks to ensure inclusive digital development by providing equitable access to digital services and technology as well as a safe and secure digital space for all Indonesian citizens.
"To that end, we need to massively disseminate relevant vision, missions, direction, policies, and strategies to all stakeholders," he stated.
He then noted that the Digital Indonesia 2045 Vision encompassed four main missions, including one related to the acceleration of digital transformation as an effort to stimulate economic growth, improve the quality of public services, and strengthen national defense and security.

Setiadi elaborated that the second mission aims to develop and strengthen the national digital ecosystem by pushing for active participation from all stakeholders, including the government, business and industry players, associations, academics, and the public.
The minister further explained that the third mission pertains to the formulation of adaptive policies that can accommodate various trends of development, including one regarding digital technology.
"As for the fourth mission, it concerns the need to solidify social, educational, and religious institutions in the hopes of significantly boosting the people's digital literacy, so they can optimize digital technology and avoid negative digital contents," he explained.
Setiadi remarked that his ministry had set four phases in realizing the Digital Indonesia 2045 Vision.
Setiadi noted that the first phase -- from 2025 to 2029 -- will be dedicated to strengthening the country's digital foundation, while in the second phase of 2030-2034, Indonesia will focus on boosting the competitiveness of its digital ecosystem.
"In the third phase during the 2034-2039 period, we will place our focus on creating sustainable innovation. The goal in this phase is to promote sustainable innovation and achieve technological excellence while committing to environmental preservation," he noted.
Meanwhile, in the final phase, from 2039 to 2045, Indonesia is expected to emerge as a prominent country in the world of technology and continue to strive to transform into a developed country that highly utilizes technology and highly regards environmental sustainability, he concluded.
