Indrawati made the statement in her remarks at the commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the financing company PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) themed "The Dynamics of Sustainable Infrastructure Financing and Its Roles in Achieving Food Security."
"Those from the younger generations will surely carry on this country's development. Hence, I would like to ask the IIF to help produce young talents in the infrastructure sector that possess competency and integrity," she remarked in Jakarta on Monday.
The state treasurer further noted that a wide array of expertise as well as cross-sectoral collaboration are of the essence to address complex issues afflicting Indonesia's infrastructure sector. Bearing that in mind, Indrawati underscored the importance of synergy among relevant parties, including youngsters.
Indrawati then urged the IIF to continue to provide solutions to problems related to infrastructure financing in Indonesia while noting that the company has been one of the "special mission vehicles" of the Finance Ministry.
During its 14th anniversary celebration, the IIF held a forum that involved speakers who are experts in the sustainable development pillars of environment, social, and governance (ESG).
The forum presents in-depth discussion on the best practices in the field of sustainable infrastructure financing as well as workable measures for strengthening food resilience and mitigating climate change.
During the first session of the forum, participants spoke about the role of sustainable infrastructure in achieving food security, while in the second session, the forum highlighted financing issues being faced by sustainable infrastructure projects in Indonesia.
