Jakarta (ANTARA) - Collaboration between communication providers and messaging platform providers can support the achievement of the Advanced Indonesia 2045 goal, a top government official from the Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) said here Monday.

The ministry's director general of post and information technology, Wayan Toni Supriyanto,
delivered the remarks during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between telecommunication services provider Telkomsel and Google for the development of rich communication services (RCS) with rich business messaging (RBM).

He said that Kominfo is a telecommunications regulator that is playing a role in formulating policies and regulations to support communication infrastructure development.

According to him, the policies aim to ensure that the development of the telecommunications sector runs effectively and fairly, and can create healthy competition among industry players.

"Various forms of partnerships that will be carried out by the industries are a necessity as a form of adaptation in mutually beneficial cooperation in the ecosystem, especially in the telecommunications business," he explained.

In addition, he said that the government is continuing to make efforts to expedite digital transformation by developing digital technology to achieve the Advanced Indonesia 2045 goal.
