We have to make breakthroughs in new trading areas and new market shares.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin welcomed Indonesian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia, Iwan Bogananta, at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta on Friday.

On that occasion, Amin pressed for a breakthrough in Indonesia's new trade areas with other countries.

"We have to make breakthroughs in new trading areas and new market shares," he noted in a press release on Friday.

During the meeting, Amin found that, as reported by Bogananta, several potential economic and social collaborations could be improved, especially for national commodity exports.

Then, the VP emphasized that Indonesia should expand its cooperation with various countries through myriad breakthroughs in order to build trade hubs.

The breakthrough that the VP had stressed is in the form of building cooperation with countries that geographically have access to larger markets.

"It does not have to be a very big country, but as long as it has a trade hub for our products. That would be very good," he remarked.

Bogananta then remarked that geographically, Bulgaria, which is nicknamed the "Land of the Roses," is very strategic and has huge potential to become a trade hub.

"Bulgaria has two large ports. Many commodities from Indonesia can enter Europe at low cost," he noted.

According to the ambassador, Indonesia's superior commodities, with a market in Europe, have the potential to be developed by utilizing the Bulgarian route for marketing.

“For example, palm oil. They have needs for palm oil and also eyelash beauty products. This is the potential for countries that are geographically close to Europe and have access to the European market," he added.

For Albania, Bogananta highlighted that country's keenness to build cooperation in the religious sector with Indonesia.

"The Grand Mufti of Albania wants to establish religious cooperation with Indonesia. He sees the diversity of religions in Indonesia, but we manage to get along," he noted.

Accompanying the vice president during the meeting were Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat, Ahmad Erani Yustika, as well as Vice President's Special Staff Masduki Baidlowi, Masykuri Abdillah, and Robikin Emhas. (INE)
