Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has reported that 64 thousand achievements made by Indonesian students have been recorded in its Talent Management Information System (SIMT) so far.

"Currently, on the SIMT website, it is recorded that there are 64 thousand achievements," head of the ministry's National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), Maria Veronica Irene Herdjiono, said at the "Achievement Talk: Getting to Know More About SIMT and Curation" in Jakarta on Tuesday.

SIMT is a database of national talents, which contains information about student achievements sourced from events held by the Puspresnas and curation results.

The SIMT webpage, https://simt.kemdikbud.go.id, stores integrated, structured, and scalable data on student achievements, starting from elementary school to higher education level.

It can also be used to monitor and map achievements, which can be seen based on categories, namely students, educational units, regions, and history. So, it serves as a source of information for the public.

On the SIMT, students can also attach a portfolio or digital curriculum vitae (CV) recording their achievements as well as their education history.

Herdjiono said she believes that the achievements of Indonesian children are significantly more in reality than recorded in the SIMT. For that reason, Puspresnas is continuing to make efforts to collect data on achievements that have not been recorded.

"This is what we want to encourage. There are many talents in Indonesia who have not been identified or whose data has not been collected," she added.

One of the efforts made by Puspresnas has been talent curation, the process of identifying, assessing, and giving official recognition to talent competitions and student achievements.

A member of the team that developed the SIMT application, Ruddy J. Suhatril, explained that through the SIMT webpage, people can look up the names of talents along with the newest achievements.

People can also view the statistics of students' achievements from elementary school to higher education levels.

"What is interesting is there is also a report. If we click the name of an educational unit in SIMT, it will show the portfolio of the educational unit, including students with achievements in sports, research and innovation, art, culture, and others," he informed.
