Chairman of the Election Commission of Mimika District Dete Abugau stated in Timika on Wednesday that the distribution of election logistics to the 3T areas in Mimika District, namely in the mountains and coast, was ensured to be safe without security disturbances.
"For the distribution of logistics to the mountains and also the coast, we make sure it is very safe because it is under the escort of the security forces," Abugau stated.
According to the chairman, security escort during the electoral process has become an intrinsic task for the security apparatus, including the National Police and Indonesian Army (TNI).
"Regarding security, we synergize with the security forces of both the National Police and the TNI to guard every stage of the election, including when distributing logistics," he stated.
Abugau explained that his side commenced distributing election logistics to the 3T areas on February 8-10, 2024.
"We immediately held a plenary (meeting) to decide who was the third party who would distribute the election logistics because the KPU RI gave tender authority to the KPU of Mimika District," Abugau noted.
Currently, all the logistics of the 2024 election are in the Eme Neme Yauware Timika Building on Jalan Budi Utomo.
"Once again, we ensure that the distribution of election logistics will take place safely because the police and military are always ready to provide the best escort," he stated.
