"We are arranging the mechanism and format," the ministry's Director General of Hajj and Umrah Implementation, Hilman Latief, remarked here on Thursday.
Latief noted that the scheme is prepared as a form of appreciation to the heads of madrasas and KUAs who have made extraordinary achievements, so they can have the opportunity to become Hajj officers.
In addition, qualified heads of madrasas and KUAs are considered to have given their contribution to the educational and religious services within the ministry. Latief expressed hope that the scheme would be implemented next year.
"We want to give (them) a reward as a form of appreciation. Civil servants (ASN) at the Religious Affairs Ministry who are committed and have a high fighting spirit are worthy of our appreciation. Hopefully, this scheme can be implemented next year," he stated.
He expressed hope that the Hajj officer quota for outstanding madrasah and KUA heads would be able to provide opportunities to them to carry out their duties while performing Hajj at the same time.
"Performing Hajj and being a Hajj officer is God's calling," he stated.
Earlier, on January 26, 2024, the ministry announced the results of the 2024 Indonesian Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) of Saudi Arabia selection.
The ministry's spokesperson, Anna Hasbie, stated that the selection process for the central-level PPIH Saudi Arabia Hajj officers began with the registration of participants and document selection on January 11-19, 2024.
Participants who succeeded in the document stage followed the computer-based exam and interview at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory on January 25.
After announcing the results, the ministry will conduct technical training for the new Hajj officers, scheduled before the Ramadan month.
