Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) is developing digital services to make the process of selling fruit to the Astra Agro factory efficient, effective, and convenient for palm oil farmers.

"Astra Agro's step to prioritize palm oil products from farmers is also the company's commitment to supporting palm oil farmers' businesses," chief executive officer of Astra Agro, Santosa, told journalists at the "Talk to the CEO 2024" event here on Friday evening.

The development is in line with the digitalization program implemented by Astra Agro over the last few years, including the creation of the Partnership Information System Application (SISKA) 2.0, which was released in January, he added.

Besides providing convenience to partners, SISKA 2.0 is expected to optimize other facilities, such as platforms provided by the company as a service for partner drivers waiting for the unloading of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) at the factory.

Further, at the beginning of this year, Astra Agro introduced the Delivery Schedule Booking feature, which is expected to shorten waiting times for unloading with the help of an integrated queuing system, to make it easier for partners to arrange fruit delivery schedules to Astra Agro factories.

Santosa further stated that the partnership program, which has been intensified since 2018, is among the company's business strategies to fulfill its palm oil mill utilities and crude palm oil (CPO) production.

Astra Agro believes optimal digital services and programs will drive sustainable business for the company in the future.

"In the last few years, national palm oil production has stagnated. Therefore, we have to be efficient to survive. Product utilization must also be optimal," Santosa said.

In the meantime, a number of collaborative programs are being carried out to support partners' palm oil businesses.

The support offered by Astra Agro includes the purchase of fertilizers, oil palm sprouts, herbicides, transport units, private units, and heavy equipment as well as cooperation in infrastructure repairs.
