The two figures engaged in a discussion on the initiative during a meeting held on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Thursday (February 29) local time.
"We are discussing the JFHTF, an initiative jointly devised by finance and health ministers of G20 countries aimed at mitigating the threats of pandemics in the future," she noted in a statement released by the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Friday.
Indrawati, once serving as managing director of the World Bank, said she expected Gentiloni to drive the EU to provide support for the JFHTF Initiative that is being co-chaired by Indonesia and Italy this year. Meanwhile, Gentiloni had earlier served as prime minister of Italy.
Apart from the initiative, Indrawati and Gentiloni also made the most of their meeting to speak on bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the EU, particularly in trade activities.
"Hopefully, the well-fostered cooperation (between Indonesia and the EU) will continue to prosper and bring more benefits," the Indonesian state treasurer noted.
During her participation in the FMCBG Meeting under Brazil's G20 Presidency, Indrawati also held meetings with other figures, including Treasurer of Australia Jim Chalmers, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun.
In a meeting with her Australian counterpart, Indrawati outlined the positive performance of Indonesia's State Budget (APBN) and how the country managed to sustain development agendas without sacrificing the capacity and credibility of APBN.
During her talks with the World Bank's Banga, the minister touched upon topics related to cooperation between Indonesia and the global institution.
As for the meeting with AIIB President, Indrawati highlighted matters related to development in Asia, including Indonesia.
