Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Home Affairs Ministry is implementing a thematic regional innovation pilot project in several regions to support the innovation ecosystem’s growth in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.

According to a written statement from the BSKDN received here on Wednesday, in 2024, five districts are targeted for the pilot project, namely Nias, Sigi, Belu, Aru Islands, and Nabire.

“The support can be in the form of dissemination of (information about) innovation carried out by studying and developing practical models from thematic innovations that have been successfully implemented, to be replicated in 3T regions with similar problems or characteristics,” BSKDN Head Yusharto Huntoyugo stated.

Huntoyugo made the statement at the Meeting on Identification of Characteristics of Pilot Project Implementation Regions in 2024 held in Jakarta on Tuesday (March 19).

According to the agency head, those pilot project regions will become examples for other regions in developing innovations.

To continue the pilot project in 2023, three application service themes are implemented in this year’s pilot project, namely for Regional Taxes and Levies (ePatda), Poverty Data Validation (e-Vaskin), and Village-Owned Enterprises (eBUMDes).

“These applications are results of identification and improvement of innovation models that have been carried out in several regions,” he elaborated.

He further explained that several regions have been used as references for the three applications in the pilot project.

Regions used as references for ePatda are Sumedang District, Yogyakarta Province, Yogyakarta City, Depok City, Palembang City, and Surabaya City.

As for e-Vaskin, the regions that are used as references are Kulon Progo District, Banyuwangi District, Situbondo District, Berau District, and Palembang City. Meanwhile, Denpasar City is used as a reference for the eBUMDes application.

To this end, he urged the pilot project regions to provide information on their characteristics, so that the three applications can be adjusted.

Huntoyugo stated that implementing the pilot project in several identified regions could improve the quality of application-based public services and improve the innovation climate in the relevant regions.

He expressed hope that the results or output from implementing the pilot project would be recorded as innovation.
