FTUI Dean Heri Hermansyah said on Wednesday that the opening of two programs is proof of the faculty's commitment to improving the quality of education and offering university students global learning experiences.
"With a focus on developing curriculum, international collaboration, and technological innovation, these two study programs will not only strengthen FTUI's reputation as a quality educational institution but also open the door to wider international recognition for our alumni," he said.
He added that the regular Computer Engineering and Environmental Engineering programs were opened in 2006 and have been accredited as "outstanding" by the Engineering Major Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM Teknik).
Both study programs have been internationally accredited by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
Computer engineering is a special discipline that combines knowledge and skills in using hardware, software, and digital electronic devices, as well as network connectivity and cybersecurity.
Many graduates of the UI's Computer Engineering program are working as Internet of Things (IoT) engineers, artificial intelligence and application developers, big data analysts, and network engineers, as well as in jobs related to cybersecurity.
The Environmental Engineering program covers aspects of planning, design, construction, and management of environmental facilities and infrastructure.
The head of FTUI's Environmental Engineering study program, Cindy Rianti Priadi, said that mastery of environmental engineering is important for planning and carrying out sustainable development.
