PT ASDP has prepared various port and ship facilities to ensure the comfort of passengers on this 2024 Eid homecoming.South Lampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - State ferry operator company PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry has prepared 66 ships in the Bakauheni Port in South Lampung for the Eid transportation needs in 2024.
General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Bakauheni Port Branch Rudi Sunarko here on Sunday said that his side ensured the readiness of the 66 fleet to serve passenger in the 2024 Eid al-Fitr transportation period.
“We are preparing 60 ships for regular (crossing) and six for executives and all of them are ready for operations,” Sunarko said.
ASDP prepared more ferries ahead of the day to prevent overcrowded of passengers during the peak of the exodus flow from Java Island to Sumatra Island via the sea route.
He added, PT ASDP has prepared various port and ship facilities to ensure the comfort of passengers on this 2024 Eid homecoming.
"We have prepared seven piers consisting of five regular piers and two executives, as well as support facilities in the port area," he said.
He also asked prospective passengers to buy the Ferizy tickets days before the departure.
"We urge prospective travelers between Sumatra and Java who will use the ASDP crossing service to buy tickets many days before," he said.
Meanwhile, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry has implemented a new provision for purchasing ferry tickets online starting December 11, 2023.
The provision applies in Bakauheni Port, Merak Port in Banten, Ketapang Port in East Java, and Gilimanuk Port in Bali.
In addition, the provision requires ferry ticket reservations to be only available in maximum radius of five kilometers from the port.
This provision is stipulated in the Letter of the Transportation Ministry’s Director General of Land Transportation AP.406/1/5/DJPD/2023 regarding the Arrangement of Electronic Ticket Booking Services Around the Port.
