Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, through the Nusantara Economic Hereso Program (PENA), successfully upgraded Bali Klungkung District's Kusamba salt for spa and is currently used in various famous spa places.

"I have tried it for the last four months, and it feels so good on my body. No need to worry about using this product," Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini noted in a statement received here on Wednesday.

According to the minister, Kusamba spa salt is a beauty product that has currently gained immense popularity and has begun to penetrate the international market.

Initially, the spa salt was only processed by the community as pure salt, but in 2022, the Social Ministry, in collaboration with the Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, built a tunnel system in Kusamba Village.

The tunnel system for salt processing is managed by the Sarining Segara salt farmer group that has 17 members.

This tunnel system is more efficient, so it increases the quality and quantity of salt production.

Kusamba's salt quality continues to be improved through human resources empowerment training held by the ministry. Some 17 members of the salt farmer group participated in the training in December 2023.

In addition to training, the ministry provided assistance in the form of spa salt processing machines and a spa production house, with a size of 30 square meters, and mentoring in the salt spa business management and license.

To help market these products to a wider community, the ministry collaborated with the Krisna souvenir center in Bali.

Thus, Kusamba spa salt has been displayed and marketed through the souvenir center to expand its reach to global customers.
