Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower stated that the newly launched 2025-2045 Care Economy Road Map can support the realization of a workforce ecosystem that is inclusive and fair for all, especially women and children.

“I believe that this road map is not a mere static policy document but also an embodiment of our commitment for all stakeholders to create inclusive economic and workforce ecosystems,” Manpower Minister’s Expert Staff for Economy Aris Wahyudi said here on Thursday.

He conveyed the statement at the launch event of the 2025-2045 Care Economy Road Map.

The road map document was launched by the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, on Thursday, supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO) as well as other ministries and institutions.

While reading Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah's speech, Wahyudi remarked that the road map is needed to prepare for the achievement of the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.

The road map covers seven priorities that are related to various care work, with the first being the development of early childhood education and care services that are accessible, affordable, and of quality.

The second priority is strengthening aged care and long-term care services.

There is also the priority to increase inclusive and integrated services for people with disabilities, people living with HIV, people with special needs, violence survivors, and other vulnerable groups.

The other priorities are increasing access to maternity leave; increasing men’s involvement, including through paternity leave; recognizing decent work for care workers; and implementing social protection program for the care economy.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Manpower, I welcome it and also want to express high appreciation to all stakeholders and strategic development partners for the completion of the preparation of the 2025-2045 Care Economy Road Map," he remarked.
