Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has authorized his ministers to comply with the Constitutional Court's (MK) summons regarding the election results dispute case.

"He has asked us to attend," Hartarto said on Wednesday.

He confirmed his readiness to attend the summons after receiving an invitation from the MK on Tuesday evening.

Regarding the scope of his testimony in the MK, Hartarto emphasized that he will only explain the government's core duties and functions.

When asked about coordination with the other three ministers summoned by the court, Hartarto acknowledged that his team had been in communication with their colleagues.

He clarified that his testimony will focus on providing an explanation of the state budget mechanism, particularly as it relates to social assistance and social protection programs.

"I will limit my statements to matters concerning the government," he remarked.

Hartarto, who is also the Golkar Party chairman, stated that he would fulfill MK's summons as a witness in the 2024 Presidential Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing.

The MK has scheduled the summons of four cabinet ministers for April 5.

Other ministers called as witnesses are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini.
