Last year, before Eid, there were more than 1,500 complaints. Now, the number has decreased to 600.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower has reported an improvement in the payment of holiday allowances (THR) this year, marked by fewer consultations and complaints at the THR command posts compared to the previous year.

"Complaints to the THR command posts this year are better than last year. Until yesterday, there were 300 complaints while for national, there were 600 complaints," the ministry's director general of industrial relations development and social security, Indah Anggoro Putri, said on Thursday.

Most of the consultations and complaints at the THR command posts, both under the coordination of the Ministry of Manpower and regional manpower services, were not in the severe category, she informed.

The consultations and complaints mostly pertained to THR payment calculations, especially for workers with specific time work agreement (PKWT) status or contract workers, she added.

According to Putri, the number of consultations and complaints at the THR command post this year showed a decline compared to the year-ago period.

"Last year, before Eid, there were more than 1,500 complaints. Now, the number has decreased to 600. Only 320 went straight to the Manpower Ministry compared to almost 500 complaints last year. This is an improvement," she expounded.

Putri reported that as of the THR final payment deadline, which was D-7 Eid (April 3, 2024), there had been no complaints about employers failing to pay THR.

In addition, from Thursday, the THR command post will accept complaints regarding unpaid THR or THR payments in violation of statutory provisions, she said.

As per Circular Number M/2/HK.04/III/2024 concerning the Implementation of Providing 2024 Religious Holiday Allowances (THR) for Workers/Laborers in Companies, the THR had to be paid seven days before Eid and could not be provided in installments.
