Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo stated that the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) toll road section at KM64, which had collapsed, is expected to resume operation during the 2024 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

His side is currently evaluating the readiness of this toll road section. However, he cannot confirm as yet when the repair will be completed.

"It will depend on the structure of the toll road whether it has to be repaired or strengthened. We will try our best to operate the toll road for Eid homecoming with special monitoring," Wirjoatmodjo remarked on Friday.

According to Wirjoatmodjo, the government is still studying the cause of the landslide on the Bocimi KM 64 toll road. Apart from natural factors, the road structure of the toll road is also being evaluated.

Furthermore, the investigation process can determine whether significant improvements are needed or just strengthening, he noted.

"Currently, the factor of the landslide is due to nature. We are still examining the toll road structure," he added.

Earlier, PT Waskita Toll Road (WTR) stated that the landslide that occurred on the Bocimi KM 64 Toll Road in Ciambar Sub-district, Sukabumi District, West Java, was due to water scouring during heavy rain on April 3.

The area affected by the landslide is lane I on the main road of the Bocimi Toll Road. As a result of this incident, one car was reportedly hit by the landslide, and currently, efforts to retrieve it are still underway.

As a precautionary measure, access from Parungkuda to Ciawi has been temporarily closed to avoid the potential for subsequent landslides. To this end, toll road users are urged to comply with the regulation for safety.

Meanwhile, Director of Law Enforcement of the National Police Traffic Corp, Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, explained that traffic engineering had been carried out on the Bocimi Toll Road after the landslide.

Vehicles from Jakarta heading to Sukabumi will be directed to exit at the Cigombong Toll exit to re-enter from Parung Kuda gate to continue the trip.

Meanwhile, vehicles from Sukabumi heading to Jakarta must exit at Parung Kuda and re-enter the toll from the Cigombong gate.
