Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry stated that Indonesia's digital space during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/2024 AD momentum can be considered to be peaceful, sans any significant problems.

Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi said here on Wednesday that from the Ramadan month until Eid, the circulation of hoaxes in the digital space did not stir up much commotion.

"There was no problem, right, there was no excessive fuss," he added.

Although he did not provide further details on the findings of hoaxes or problems in the digital space, he said that Indonesians are now wiser in responding to information circulating on social media.

People are no longer easily provoked by hoaxes because they already know social media basics and are digitally literate.

Thus, a calm atmosphere could be realized in the digital space during the period from Ramadan to Eid this year.

"People are getting more wise and mature in the digital space. There was something like scolding or getting angry (with other people) on social media, but it is overall okay. This is in accordance with the homecoming theme 'Happy Exodus, Full of Meaning,'" the minister said.

To provide information and guidance to people carrying out Eid homecoming this year, the Kominfo released the Mudikpedia electronic book.

The e-book includes a culinary map, vehicle traffic monitoring, and information on 2024 Eid exodus services that can be accessed through the Mudikpedia website.

Mudikpedia is expected to help people plan their travel before and after Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.

"The explanation in this e-book is complete so that they (travelers) can determine when to go and which route (to take) during the exodus," the ministry's director general of public information and communication, Usman Kansong, said earlier.
