Head of the marketing and communication department of PT Jasa Marga, Faiza Riani, informed that the tally is the cumulative figure for traffic flow from four main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (to Merak), GT Ciawi (to Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (to Trans Java), and GT Kalihurip Utama (to Bandung).
"The total traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 45.58 percent compared to normal traffic. When compared to the 2023 Eid, the total traffic volume was higher by 0.82 percent," she said on Thursday.
Providing details on the distribution of vehicles leaving Jabotabek, she informed that 919,862 vehicles (58.80 percent) headed to Trans Java and Bandung, 376,133 vehicles (24.05 percent) to Merak, and 268,283 vehicles (17.15 percent) to Puncak
The volume of traffic leaving Jabotabek and moving toward Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road amounted to 641,349 vehicles, an increase of 208 percent from normal.
The volume of traffic leaving Jabotabek and heading toward Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama on the Cipularang Toll Road amounted to 278,513 vehicles, up 18.76 percent from normal.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek and moving toward Merak via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road stood at 376,133, an increase of 3.32 percent from normal.
Lastly, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek and heading toward Puncak via GT Ciawi on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 268,283, an increase of 0.21 percent from normal.
Riani said that Jasa Marga recorded a high volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area through the four main toll gates on Eid day at 196,035 vehicles. The traffic was still dominated by vehicles heading toward the east (Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama and Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama) at 58.05 percent.
"We recorded that (the number of) vehicles leaving via GT Cikampek Utama reached 68,751 vehicles, an increase of 169.04 percent compared to normal traffic. Apart from that, a significant increase in traffic was also seen for those heading to Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama, namely 45,040 vehicles, an increase of 65.47 percent compared to normal traffic," she informed.
