The conference will soon be held on April 20, 2024, in Badung, Bali.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA) stated that the 2024 National Women's Conference (Munas Perempuan 2024) provides a good opportunity for women, children, disabled people, and marginalized groups to convey their interests.
"Good collaborative practices between civil society organizations and government are a strong modality since the government has openness, commitment, recognition, and support to accommodate women's aspirations," KPPPA's Acting Secretary, Titi Eko Rahayu, noted in a statement here on Thursday.
The conference will soon be held on April 20, 2024, in Badung, Bali.
Rahayu explained that the conference aims to accommodate meaningful participation from women, children, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups and to formulate nine agendas.
The first stage of the conference was carried out online on March 26-27, 2024.
This activity reached 477 villages, 163 districts, and 35 provinces, represented by 2,195 participants, comprising 86 percent women and five percent people with disabilities.
In addition, 1,548 participants took part in the activity via online streaming that was monitored via Zoom at 102 gathering points.
"The votes collected at the National Conference also came from hard-to-reach areas, such as remote islands and mountains, indigenous communities, and minorities," Rahayu stated.
"This National Conference is also a joint effort to accommodate women's voices in every planning forum," she noted further.
The initial phase of the Women's National Conference has produced 171 direct proposals and 753 indirect proposals from the nine agreed agendas of the conference.
All of these proposals were rearranged as recommendations in the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN), Strategic Plan (RENSTRA) of the ministry/agency, Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD), and Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD).
Documents from the results of the conference will be communicated and submitted at the summit in Badung, Bali.
