Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin shared his experiences in discharging his duties under the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Gibran paid Amin a visit at his residence in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"The Vice President told him (Gibran) about the tasks given by Mr. Jokowi, including those related to Papua, poverty, stunting, and Islamic economy," vice presidential special staff for communication and information, Masduki Baidlowi, informed after Gibran's visit.

He said that Amin told Gibran that the vice president wields no authority to decide and is only tasked with executing instructions from the president.

"So, a vice president is only carrying out tasks mandated by a president. Tasks that will be given by (President-elect) Prabowo might be similar (to the ones assigned by Widodo) or instead, different," Masduki added.

During the meeting, he said, Vice President Amin also recalled offering prayers at a mosque named after President Widodo in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

"He then threw a joke that Mr. Jokowi himself has yet to visit the mosque," he added.

Furthermore, Amin also enlightened his soon-to-be successor about the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, he said.

"The Vice President shared some advice on how to make the most of the current positive domestic condition to ensure that Indonesian people can genuinely enjoy a Golden Indonesia," he added.

The current situation, he continued, is also supported by the consolidation arising after Prabowo-Gibran's competitors -- Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD -- congratulated the pair and accepted the Constitutional Court's verdict on the election dispute.

Meanwhile, Gibran told Amin that he would first focus on completing his tasks as the mayor of Solo.

Masduki said that Gibran then invited Amin to inaugurate an artistic tourism destination in Solo, Central Java, in June or July this year.

"Mr. Gibran invited the Vice President to Solo to inaugurate a destination that is still under construction by the PUPR (Public Works and Public Housing) Ministry. The Vice President will inaugurate the place either in June or July," he informed.

When asked about whether Amin is planning to meet with Prabowo, Masduki said that the Vice President has yet to make such a plan.

"Mr. Vice President is awaiting the right time. We will arrange it (the meeting) soon," he added.
