Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the National Police's Traffic Corps Inspector General Aan Suhanan invited the Balinese community to synergize and cooperate to make the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) event on May 18-25, 2024, successful.

Suhanan noted in a statement received here on Wednesday that in order to secure and ease the traffic flow during the event's implementation, his side will apply traffic scheme engineering from the time of arrival of delegates until their return.

"We will divert the flow on several road sections and closed some, so we apologize that this might disturb the comfort of Balinese people, but all this is for the good name of Indonesia," Suhanan remarked.

He explained that during the application of traffic engineering, his side has prepared alternative routes that can be used by the public.

"Officers have prepared alternative routes during the traffic flow diversion or road closure," he stated.

He said that the road closure will only be temporary.

"We guarantee that the closure is only temporary," he affirmed.

He explained that to make the international event a success, both officers and the community must collaborate.

"Everything we do, including the escorting, is to serve the Bali people, so their daily activities are not disturbed. We must work together for safety and smoothness," he remarked.

On the occasion, Suhanan also gave directions to the personnel of the General Security, Escort, Traffic Route Security and Vehicle Parking Security (Pamwalrolakir) Task Force that will secure the 10th World Water Forum activities.

He remarked that Wednesday was the final consolidation of the Pamwalrolakir Task Force for the 10th WWF security. The task force also includes the VVIP and VIP escort sub-task force and the traffic and parking sub-task forces.

He called on security personnel to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) to proffer a sense of security and comfort for delegates.
