"Here (the smart transportation system exhibition) is also not limited to selling services or products, but there are also those who help provide financing," Setiadi remarked at the opening of the 19th ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2024 here on Tuesday (May 28).
The minister elaborated that the smart transportation exhibition held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) opened up opportunities for Indonesian regions seeking funding cooperation to build smart transformation systems.
"A city that has not been able to carry out its activities independently can cooperate with one party so that connectivity from place to place in a city can be completed. We can even leap," he stated.
Hence, he expressed hope that regions in Indonesia that have not been able to develop smart transportation systems independently can cooperate with various parties who attended and participated in the forum, such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and European Investment Bank.
“This forum is very important. We are not just talking about technology but also about collaboration and funding. What I want to say is that we should not be late. Jakarta has carried it out, but it is a little late, and many cities in Indonesia need the support,” he pointed out.
The ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2024 is a regular event in the transportation and infrastructure sectors that brings together stakeholders, experts, policymakers, industry leaders, and technology developers to exchange ideas, according to the President of ITS Indonesia William Sabandar
"Indonesia has the honor to host the 19th ITS Asia Pacific Forum that is being held on May 28-30, 2024,” he said.
