Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Minister Teten Masduki made a working visit to the Netherlands to bolster cooperation in the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives.

"There are still many sectors that have great opportunities to be developed together, especially in the MSME, startup, and cooperative sectors in Indonesia. Some that have the most potential are the agricultural and aquaculture sectors," he said in a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Masduki attended the Dutch Trade, Tourism, and Investment (TTI) Forum organized by the Indonesian Embassy to the Netherlands in The Hague on Tuesday (May 28, 2024).

He emphasized that the Netherlands has been a strategic trade and investment partner for Indonesia, and the success of the cooperation needs to be improved.

The TTI Forum was attended by 150 businesspersons from the Netherlands and Indonesia. According to the minister, the forum was a strategic means to explore the potential for closer cooperation between the two countries.

He added that the Netherlands has succeeded in developing its agriculture sector with the help of advanced technology that can boost land productivity, and Indonesia can build cooperation with the country in this area.

"For us in Indonesia, the cooperation will be an opportunity to transfer knowledge on the latest technology in the field of agrotechnology, while Dutch companies will have the opportunity to market their products in Indonesia," he said.

During his visit, he also held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, Liesje Schreinemacher, to discuss bilateral cooperation opportunities.

He informed that Indonesia needs support, both in terms of funding and further guidance, and hopes to work with the Dutch government in developing startups.

During their meeting, the two ministers also discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of floating solar power plants, airport operation solutions, and downstreaming for the energy transition.
