Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Information Center of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Major General Nugraha Gumilar has said that the TNI is ready to send troops to Gaza, Palestine, for a peace mission.

He delivered the remarks in response to Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto's statement on the deployment of TNI personnel for a peace mission.

"We are ready for a peace operation under the UN flag wherever it is ordered by the state," he affirmed on Monday.

He said that the task must be carried out in keeping with the fourth paragraph of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.

However, he did not disclose the exact number of troops deployed and the deployment date.

Earlier, Prabowo said, Indonesia is ready to make more efforts to realize peace amid the conflict raging in Gaza. TNI is ready to carry out a peace mission under the auspices of the United Nations (UN), he expounded.

"We are ready to immediately send medical personnel to operate a field hospital in Gaza with the approval of all parties. Indonesia is willing to evacuate and treat injured Palestinians and those who need treatment in Indonesian hospitals," he informed during the Special Address session of the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, on June 1, 2024.

He said that contributing to world peace is one of Indonesia's missions on the international stage.

Indonesia has made several efforts to reduce conflict, including by pursuing an inclusive dialogue approach and concrete cooperation as well as upholding international law, he added.

Speaking about the conflict in Gaza, he said all countries under the auspices of the United Nations must collaborate to find a solution to create peace.

Through collaboration with all parties, Prabowo said he believes that a non-violent path can be taken to de-escalate the conflict.

"Along with (collaboration) other countries, the only real solution for everlasting peace and security for Israel and Palestine is a two-state solution," he emphasized.
