The ministry and health insurer will also work with the National Social Security Council (DJSN) and the Ministry of Finance to find an appropriate amount, according to Deputy Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono.
"The contribution amount is still being studied to determine the most appropriate amount, which is fair for the community and does not burden them," Harbuwono said during a hearing with Commission IX of the House of Representatives on Thursday.
He made the remarks in response to a request from Commission IX to comprehensively review the KRIS contribution fee.
Meanwhile, DJSN chairperson Agus Suprapto said it is hoped that the KRIS contribution fee will be determined without delay before the national health program is implemented on July 1, 2025.
He added that the determination of fees must be carried out immediately, considering that hospitals will also need to adjust the rules.
KRIS implementation is a mandate of Law Number 40 of 2004 concerning the National Social Security System (SJSN) to provide equal health facilities and services to the community.
KRIS has 12 standard criteria for inpatient services in hospitals, which cover building quality, lighting, bathrooms, bed dividers, room temperature, and oxygen installation.
