"If (X) committed no violation, (then) on what basis should we block them? There should be a clear reason to do so," the ministry's director general of informatics application, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, remarked here on Thursday.
X operator stated that a misunderstanding had occurred among members of the public regarding the platform's adult content policy, which allowed consensually-produced adult nudity, he noted.
He said the platform's operator had affirmed its commitment to observing Indonesia's regulations and extended a clarification to the government regarding its adult content policy.
The ministry's official affirmed that the platform has shown compliance with national regulations and actively removed social media content violating rules.
"We asked them to prove it, and we found contents (which violate laws) have been taken down," Pangerapan remarked.

As X has shown its commitment to complying with regulations, the ministry will not block the social media platform or impose any fine on its operator, he stated.
Pangerapan also reminded social media users and the general public to be more attentive in comprehending X's policy clauses on adult content.
He elaborated that the social media operator has clarified that such content should not be displayed and seen prominently and should be labeled.
On its latest policy update published in late May of 2024, X declared that users may share "consensually produced and distributed adult nudity or sexual behavior, provided it is properly labeled and not prominently displayed."
X, which was acquired by business magnate Elon Musk in 2022, also stated that adult content on its platform will not be accessible for users under 18 and not registering their date of birth on their X account.
