Sumadi made these remarks in a statement leading up to National Police Day, celebrated on July 1.
"The Polri should continue to be the protector and guardian of the people, while also acting as a solid working partner of the Ministry of Transportation," he said.
Sumadi also emphasized his hope that the Polri would maintain and strengthen its integrity as a law enforcement institution serving the people.
According to a Kompas R&D survey conducted in June 2024, public satisfaction with the police has risen to 73.1 percent, up from 71.6 percent in a similar survey conducted last December.
This increase suggests growing public appreciation for the police's efforts to improve services and maintain security and order within society.
This year's commemoration of National Police Day underscores the Polri's commitment to upholding integrity and professionalism while serving the nation.
This unwavering commitment is expected to further elevate public trust in the institution and support the government's efforts towards economic transformation and the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
