Kediri, E Java, (ANTARA) - The East Java Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported having deployed a quick-response team to assist the residents of Bumirejo Village in Kesamben Sub-district, Blitar District, impacted by a landslide.

Trenggaleng Search and Rescue (SAR) Agency reported that one resident, Gunawan (45), from the landslide-struck village remained missing on Sunday (June 30). The bodies of two other residents, identified as Jarianto (62) and Mugiono (69), were found Sunday evening.

The landslide also injured another resident named Anto, 23.

According to the acting head of the BPBD-East Java Office, Gatot Soebroto, the quick-response team personnel have been deployed on the ground to partake in the search and rescue efforts in the landslide-hit area.

He remarked that the personnel also carried aid packages for those impacted by the landslide and logistics for public kitchens for affected residents and rescue workers.

Since December 2023, several regions in Indonesia have experienced hydrometeorological disasters, including floods and landslides.

In Riau Province, for instance, Pelalawan District experienced a 20-year cycle of major floods from December 2023 to January 2024.

Meanwhile, a flash flood and landslide in West Bandung District, West Java Province, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, left at least nine people missing.

The missing people were all residents of Gintung Hamlet in Cibenda Village in Cipongkor Sub-district.
