At the "Road to Run For Independence Day 2024" event held at Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex on Sunday, Sandiaga stated that the specific events will later be decided by the President-elect and Vice President-elect for 2024-2029, namely Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"We proposed Moto GP, F1 Powerboat, Aquabike World Championship, World Surf League, and several other events. Furthermore, for music events, there are Java Jazz Festival and several other music festivals," he said.
He emphasized that the endowment fund will be used to finance various events that focus on quality and sustainable tourism in the country.
Later, the fund will be managed by a business service agency of the Ministry of Finance, namely the Indonesia Environment Fund (BPDLH).
Sandiaga noted that the process of creating the Presidential Regulation Draft on the tourism endowment fund is projected to be completed in August 2024.
The initial amount of the tourism endowment fund is Rp2 trillion, which will be sourced from the 2025 State Budget and included in the 2025 Draft State Budget.
Earlier, the minister stated that the tourism fund was still being studied and that several options for collecting funds and determining the amount were being considered.
He affirmed that the endowment fund will be used to promote national branding in support national-level and international-level events in the country.
Regarding tourism fees, he ensured that the fees would be reported transparently.
