Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Head Hasto Wardoyo commended the media's contribution to educating people about family planning and fostering a shift towards smaller families.

"We have successfully encouraged a 'two-child' family mindset," he said during a visit to the ANTARA Heritage Center (AHC) in Jakarta on Monday.

Wardoyo emphasized the importance of BKKBN's partnership with the media, saying that education and communication about family planning are core BKKBN functions.

"The BKKBN's task is to shift focus from family size to family well-being," he said. "ANTARA plays a key role in promoting this shift."

Wardoyo also stressed the national significance of BKKBN's media partnerships.

"Our relationship with the media is crucial, not for personal gain but for the nation's benefit," he said.

He expressed hope that the media will expand its role to encompass non-material aspects of quality, such as child development and education, alongside information about family size.

Wardoyo also highlighted the challenge of stunting, where current efforts primarily address physical measurements like height and weight.

"There is a critical, intangible aspect of quality: mindset," he pointed out.
