"We have inspected the raw water facilities and confirmed no problems found with (meeting) the clean water needs of IKN," Acting Deputy Head of OIKN, Raja Juli Antoni, stated on Monday.
Antoni elaborated that this readiness covers the provision of clean water during a series of state events leading up to the 79th Independence Day ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN on August 17, 2024.
"Clean water is a priority because basic needs must be met immediately," Antoni remarked.
Based on his review, the Sepaku River has a capacity of three thousand liters of water per second, and the Semoi Sepaku Dam has a capacity of 2,500 liters per second as raw water sources. Both are ready to support the clean water needs of IKN Nusantara, he remarked.
Antoni explained that the raw water supply for delivering clean water for IKN in stage one comes from the Sepaku Intake, which is processed through the drinking water supply system (SPAM).
The raw water processed by SPAM is then channeled through a 16-kilometer-long pipe to IKN Nusantara, he stated.
"Furthermore, clean water is distributed to every building used for state events in stage one," Antoni remarked.
He noted that IKN already has a SPAM pump room to distribute water from the reservoir to the water treatment plant (IPA).
A reservoir for storing processed water from the Sepaku Intake SPAM has also been prepared in the core area of the city's central government core area (KIPP).
Antoni emphasized that clean water from the reservoir to be distributed to all units at KIPP must be ensured to support the successful holding of all state events.
