The ministry's Director General of Land Transportation, Risyapudin Nursin, explained that the BRT development will cover the Greater Bandung area, West Java, and be carried out in three phases: the first phase in 2025, the second phase in 2026, and the third phase in 2027.
"This development needs coordination between the Ministry of Transportation and the West Java provincial government as well as district and city governments," he stated here on Tuesday.
According to Nursin, the Greater Bandung BRT will have a 21-kilometer line covering the Greater Bandung area, such as Bandung City, Cimahi City, West Bandung District, Bandung District, and parts of Sumedang District.
He expressed hope that the Greater Bandung BRT would eventually address traffic congestion in the Greater Bandung area.
