"There are three sets; two will be operated, and another one will serve as a backup," he informed.
He said that one ART train set had arrived in Indonesia. It will serve the National Axis - West Axis - East Axis route.
It will go under trial on August 5, 2024, he added. Another ART train set will arrive on August 1.
Sumadi expressed the hope that domestic private parties will be interested in cooperating or buying ART vehicles from China, and thereby, support the "buy the service" system in its operation.
"We provide fiscal capacity so the ART service can use the 'buy the service' scheme in 2025. There will be private parties from Indonesia that cooperate with China to buy the train sets," he said.
Meanwhile, he inspected the three carriages of the ART train set, which can accommodate up to 200 passengers.
