Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) announced that Nusantara in East Kalimantan has affordable subsidized housing for the lower middle class.

The ministry's spokesperson, Endra S. Atmawidjaja, said on Wednesday that the ministry is continuing to encourage the principle of balanced housing in Nusantara as the new capital city is not only for civil servants.

Balanced housing is a policy that requires housing developers to build residential areas with a balanced composition of luxury, middle, and simple houses with a ratio of 1:2:3. The policy is a state commitment to provide decent and affordable housing to the community.

The balanced housing development is intended to provide affordable housing options to people planning to move to Nusantara, including civil servants who wish to own a home in the city.

The step is part of the efforts of the city's authority to create an inclusive and community-friendly area by providing comfortable and affordable housing options.
