"Earlier, talks had been held with the Banten acting governor and the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). Lampung and Banten have come to an agreement and are committed to hosting the PON," Acting Governor of Lampung Samsudin stated here on Tuesday.
He remarked that in the near future, the two local governments will establish a cooperation agreement to host the upcoming 2032 PON.
"We will follow up on this after the opening of the Aceh PON so this plan can be continued with actions," he remarked.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Lampung KONI Amalsyah Tirmidzi stated that Lampung and Banten will hold a technical meeting on the plan.
The plan will be presented at the KONI national working meeting next year.
"The agreement will strengthen cooperation between the two regions, which needs all parties' assistance in promoting the plan because many regions are interested in hosting PON in 2032," Tirmidzi stated.
