The parade is part of the commemoration of Independence Day on August 17, Presidential Secretariat Head Heru Budi Hartono said on Friday.
The parade will start at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on August 10, heading to the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The participants will then fly to Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
The national flag will be raised during the Independence Day ceremony that will be held for the first time in the new capital city.
The parade is not only symbolic but also a tribute to the national flag, which is Indonesia's symbol of struggle and sovereignty, Hartono said.
This event also aims to remind the people about the nation's history and the Indonesian independence that was achieved with all might.
President Joko Widodo will lead the ceremony in Nusantara, while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will lead the one in Jakarta.
