In a statement released here on Monday, BRIN's director for research and innovation licensing governance, Tri Sundari, said that Inline has been designed to accelerate the research licensing process at various ministries and agencies.
Inline eliminates the need to upload the same documents on several different applications.
"With the implementation of Inline, it is hoped that research licensing in Indonesia is carried out through one stop, such as OSS (Online Single Submission) in business licensing," she added.
She said that Inline could help make the research climate in Indonesia more conducive and encourage innovations.
According to her, efficient research licensing is not only important for domestic researchers, but also to attract foreign researchers to conduct research in Indonesia.
"Indonesia has extraordinary biodiversity, which attracts researchers from all over the world. With easier licensing services, we can increase research investment and innovation in this country," Sundari said.
She further explained that the research licensing process has become simpler and more integrated through Inline, allowing researchers to apply for licenses through a single platform.
The licensing request status can also be monitored in real-time, thereby reducing uncertainty in the licensing process, she said. The service can be accessed by all researchers, both from Indonesia and other countries, who wish to conduct research in Indonesia.
She informed that through the implementation of Inline, BRIN is demonstrating its commitment to providing services that are more efficient and transparent and which do not only support local researchers, but also make Indonesia an attractive research destination for researchers from all over the world.
"In addition to increasing investment in the field of research, it will also improve the image of research licensing in Indonesia," she said.
