Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin outlined three directives for the Indonesian Television Academy (ATVI) to advance the national media and broadcasting industry during the inauguration of the academy's campus building.

"First, it is important to make the most of this new building as a center for research and innovation to pave the way for a more excellent media and broadcasting industry," he said in a statement received from his office on Thursday.

Elaborating on the first directive, Amin emphasized that research and development are as important as practical skills for the industry and its participants.

"Second, I urge you to stay true to our nation's culture and ethics when navigating developments in the media industry," he told ATVI.

Amin stressed that Indonesia's young journalistic talents need to be equipped not only with journalistic skills but also with strong moral values aligned with national culture and ethics.

Third, he called on ATVI to collaborate with various stakeholders and educational institutions to provide optimal educational services that can help Indonesia keep up with global dynamics.

In this context, Amin expressed his belief that collaboration could enable ATVI students to participate in a variety of research and innovation projects that could positively impact Indonesia's digital media landscape.

He also suggested that the academy offer scholarship programs, facilitate student exchanges, and enhance its curriculum.

Amin expressed hope that the newly inaugurated ATVI building would not only benefit the academy's students but also inspire other vocational education institutions to improve the quality of their facilities and services.
