The minister noted in Jakarta on Wednesday that all the 14 housing towers are currently ready to accommodate state apparatuses who will be gradually transferred to Indonesia's future capital city.
"Infrastructure-wise, (the towers) are ready," he pointed out.
Earlier, on August 12, State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas remarked that the government was targeting to complete the construction of all 47 residential flat towers in October this year.
Anas highlighted that the towers have a total capacity to accommodate about 3,200 people, provided that all state apparatuses are placed in shared housing units.
However, the minister noted that President Joko Widodo had instructed him to provide a whole individual accommodation for each married civil servant. Hence, in this scenario, the flats can accommodate around 1,700 residents.
The 47 housing towers have a total of 2,280 units, with each unit being 98 square meters and each tower soaring 12 floors high. Floors 1 and 2 are used for public facilities, while the remaining 10 floors are for housing. Each unit has three bedrooms.
In detail, 31 towers are dedicated to civil servants, with a total of 1,860 units, seven towers to personnel of the National Police (Polri) and State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and the remaining nine to Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) officers, making up to 960 units.
The PUPR Ministry has continued to work with partners to ensure that the residential towers, which adopt the smart home concept, are connected to supporting facilities, such as retailer networks, expedition services, and also banking services.
