Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has collaborated with the Indonesian High Leaders Women Association (PIMTI) to trial the Kelecung women-friendly tourism village in Tabanan District, Bali. In her statement received on Friday, the ministry's secretary, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, announced the launch of the Women-Friendly Tourism Village Guidebook.

"The guidebook for women-friendly tourism village is aimed to provide guidance for tourism village managers and other relevant stakeholders to realize tourism villages that pay attention to women's empowerment," Adnyani remarked.

She emphasized that the guidebook will support the creation of women-friendly tourism villages, offering added value and multiple benefits.

She highlighted the importance of implementing women-friendly tourism villages, noting that approximately 64 percent of tourists worldwide are expected to be women in 2024.

Of this figure, 80 percent are solo travelers of which 60 percent opt to go on vacation without their partners.

In 2023, around 33.49 percent of Indonesian domestic travelers were women, making it essential to offer destinations that are welcoming to women and children, she added. Over the past three days, PIMTI members have been invited to experience various attractions at the Kelecung Tourism Village in Tabanan.

The village features homestays, the melukat ritual, Balinese-style painting, and the opportunity to prepare and enjoy Balinese culinary delights, such as ayam betutu (slow-cooked chicken), sate lilit (minced meat satay), and ayam sambal matah (chicken with raw sambal) with local spices.
